Packaging Design : Globlin's Tool
Under the challenge to develop and design packaging for a fictional product, the challenge contains distinctive branding, graphics, illustrations and copywriting to be applied to illustrate the product that is to be contained.
Weather Controller, Goblin Tools
Diving into the invention of the product, the concept is inspired by the Korean folklore of the Dokkaebi, or goblin, these nature deities possess extraordinary powers to engage with humans, either through playful tricks or benevolent assistance. Translating this mystical concept into a tangible form, The Globin Tool emerges as a unique product that allows humans to harmonise their living spaces with their ideal weather conditions.
The Packaging
The packaging design delves deeper into the mythical realm, attributing weather-controlling abilities to these goblins. The narrative unfolds as the goblins generously share their power, aiding humans in cultivating an atmosphere of comfort within their homes. Aptly named The Globin Tool, this imaginative creation extends beyond mere visual weather adjustments, also crafting tailored soundscapes and temperatures.
The packaging itself is a testament to the mythical origins, drawing inspiration from Korean gift wrapping traditions. The use of olive green and textured paper mirrors the elegance of Korean gift cloths, while the interior box embraces a subtle greyish pink—a harmonious combination often found in Korean culture. The logo, crafted in calligraphy, adds a personal touch, evoking the sentiment of a handwritten message and enhancing the overall gifting experience.
The Weathers
The packaging contains 5 weather settings for consumers to aid them in setting the ambience of their choice. It is 2-sided card with the suggestive weather illustrated at the front and incorporating the buttons icons at the back of the card, providing the setting to recreate the ambience such as Cafe, Snowy Weather. Rain and so on.
In essence, The Globin Tool transcends the boundaries of ordinary packaging, weaving a narrative that intertwines folklore, functionality, and a touch of personalised charm.
The Imaginary Controller
The instruction manual contains the functionality information of the controller in which the imaginary product is being illustrated to fill the visual of the product. The controller design consists of in-depth creation such as icons on the buttons, the composition of the controller and uses of it.
