The Book Binding and Anatomy

The book is designed to amplify the silences by having the book cover in cobalt blue, a small title with almost unreadable author’s note printed at the book cover. The book sets a chance upon experience on the bookshelf, targeting audiences who are browsing the bookshelves at a slower pace. With the ambiguous title of the book today, the subtle print of the author notes give an introduction and concept of what the book contains, allowing readers to know what the book will be about by reading its cover.

Carefully curated in B5 size, "Today" is designed for the convenience of readers on the go—perfect for commutes or leisurely moments in a cafe. With its 80 pages of 90gsm uncoated paper and 10 thoughtfully organised chapters, the design of "Today" extends beyond its physicality. The thickness expresses sturdiness, the weighted book represents a sense of comfort and security to the readers when holding them. The layout mirrors the speaking style of the featured speakers, guiding the reader through the transcripts with strategically placed spaces and lines. Different typefaces are being used to create the emphasis and clear indication of visual hierarchy that allows the readers to take note of important pointers that could express the pivot point of the speeches.

Beyond its life, "Today" transforms into a motivational space where readers can engage with the wisdom of famous personalities. By encouraging interaction and the expression of personal thoughts, the book becomes a canvas for each reader to personalise and internalise the empowering messages within.
